Royal Mail Deliveries

- "There is no strike action currently taking place and, with the exception of London and Liverpool, most of the mail backlog has now been cleared. We are unable to say when we will be completely back to normal, but we are making good progress in all areas.
We will continue to clear the remaining build-up of mail in the order in which it was received, although different types of mail are being cleared at different rates.
During the strike period, our 12,000 management volunteers and operational colleagues who did not strike (and who were covering the jobs of 140,000 people) prioritised the processing of standard letter size mail through our sorting machines, and delivering Special Delivery items. As a consequence, there is a larger build-up of other mail, including packets.
